The judgements are on technicalities by an extremely biased judge. Jones didn't even get to go before the court to argue his case.

The way I see it:

Pushing one man to greatness tends to be Nazi (or sometimes communist) ideaology, by its very nature. The people who get to be a billionaire by singing, or get to be the one man to get to the moon, tend to see it as the path to success. So they tend to start becoming Nazi in action and thought.

Freedom doesn't really mesh with the "one man on top" type of idea either way.
