How about that.
How about that.
I'm interested to see how anyone spins this in a positive light.
Sounds dangerous and pretty much insane.
Federal Liberals have been actively working against the best interest of Albertans and most Canadians for years.
There is too much electorate power centralized in Quebec and Ontario.
Something needs to give.
Anyone who can't see that is definitely insane.
This doesn't trouble me very much.
If being the squeaky wheel is the only way to get grease, maybe it's time.
I've been busy with some work stuff, was there news this week, and what part of this is crazy?
Coles notes please, I hate crazy stuff.
+1 what did she do this time?
Aside from get Kenney to quit

Here's the bill: https://docs.assembly.ab.ca/LADDAR_f...9_bill-001.pdf
Construe it however you want but it would allow her cabinet to bypass the legislative assembly and amend laws as they see fit.
The bill limits the time frame someone could ask for a judicial review to 30 days instead of 6 months.
Also this is straight lol -
The bill also aims to protect the government and provincial entities from civil proceedings launched due to consequences that arise from the act.
If Notley was proposing this everyone would be losing their damn minds.
I personally don't want Looney Toons wild rose Danielle Smith modifying laws as she sees fit but if you think this is keeping Ottawa out then there's no changing your mind.
This is over reaching power to me but to each their own.
In the context of Quebec does whatever they want with zero repercussions why can alberta not follow the same route? IMO this one topic needs to be explained but everyone conveniently dances around this type of question to say Danielle Smith is crazy. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Until the general population understands why Quebec can do as they please but alberta can't I don't think most people will care.

Are you a Moron? Is Quebec a wee bit of a distinct society? French and all? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
You upset Quebec actually cares about its citizens, unlike Alberta UCP, wildrose etc who just want to sell Alberta to Texas for $5?

Beware the passive aggressive Mean Girls. Vengie, Killramos, Penismightier, buster, jrscoolude, etc who bully others into their circle jerk opinion, serially negging you, while claiming they ignore you and don't obsess over you.

What do you think that Quebec does that they 'get away with' that we would actually want to do?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They have a bunch of stuff where 'zero repercussions' is basically the same as not needing to punish the person who punches themselves in the nuts.
Quebec get away with being broke and being barely above the Atlantic provinces in GDP/Capita.. what more investment can they possibly alienate.. if this chases away investment, will all the ‘OMG NDP CHASED AWAY BILLIONS’ swap their votes?
If by "we" you actually mean you, then the answer is segregate people based on their race. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Alberta just jealous that they stand up for their people.
Ours just want to sell us to Texas for $5 because foreign corporations are more efficient.

Don't like concentrating power in the cabinet instead of with the legislature. Dislike that concept quite strongly. Dang, there really IS something in there to be upset about. Thanks beyond ( and @2Legit2Quit specifically) for cluing me in!

that's not the point and your response is exactly what you hear when anyone brings up Quebec. They regularly tell the federal govt where to shove it. Govt accepts it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Alberta govt decides to follow a similar path and we are outraged that alberta will try what other provinces are already doing?
Help this make sense?
Ill enjoy the fire works on what's to come... going to guess it's not very productive but it's certainly worthy of seeing where things may go.
I haven't read the legislation yet, just got home.
But I can get a general sense of whether it is good or not based on who is sounding like a whiny little bitch.
So far it sounds like a good idea.
Some examples with substance? Quebec loves making declarations, but most are just that. 'We declare that we don't like what the feds did.' Oh no, how will the feds recover from this?!This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Calgary declared a Climate Emergency. Made some headlines, went in the face of the provincial government, but it's mostly bark, little bite. Sums up how Quebec operates. Who cares?
Quebec has a terrible economy, highest taxes in the country (where you need to file your taxes twice because why file once when you can double the bureaucracy?), and require the federal government to prop up their social programs just to stay on par with the rest of the country.Alberta govt decides to follow a similar path and we are outraged that alberta will try what other provinces are already doing?
Help this make sense?
Why are people jumping up and down to follow them down the same path?
Why are people talking about Quebec? lol
We have our own constitutional crisis to brew.
Onward!
