That was a very good gold medal game - the Czechs really came on after their first goal.

I'm pretty damn impressed that a team from a country with only 10m could stick with such a solid Canadian team. (Primarily so solid thanks to Bedard's insane production, but it was a decent team overall as well).

On a side note, and to look even more dumb after my last comment, I didn't even know the name "Czechia" was a thing. Since the country split up, I've always known it as the "Czech Republic". The more you know...

It's a much more recent name change. Some international event they showed up for still in their "old" uniforms but started asking to be called Czechia (however it's spelled).
Changing names - so hot right now!

Jets completely controlled a game against Pittsburgh a bit earlier. Surprising dominance.
Now Edmonton is (not surprisingly) controlling Sharks at 2-0 after one period. We'll see what happens in the stretch, but it's #97's birthday and Edmonton is coming out swinging.

Vegas has very weak puck protection, tonight. They will need a lot of luck to not lose this game against Edmonton.

Why the fuck do you then try to set up a player for his second goal of the night?

Up by two goals or maybe even one player on for the hat-trick, no problem with that imo, but when it's tightly poised then you're asking for trouble

Marchand got lucky tonight, he should have put the puck in the back of the net or taken it to the boards, instead he holds onto it to attempt to setup Bergeron, ends up turning it over and luckily Nylander can't put it in the back of the net with 0.02 to go and force OT
