I think it's gross that we are holding 14 year old boys accountable for their actions for the rest of their lives.
I think the difference with Miller is the lack of remorse. Coyotes gave him a chance by drafting him, defending their decision that everyone deserves a second chance, he didn’t give a fuck and only cared about his rep, before getting dropped. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Then there’s Logan maillox, the guy spreading nudes of his gf to his team in his late teens, who renounced from the draft only for Montreal to pick him. He’s going through therapy and genuinely trying to be better, so he’s been mostly reinstated in the juniors. Only person that has a problem with him playing today seems to be Trudeau, which is par for the course.

The remorse thing is a bit McCarthy-esque though.
This is basically a struggle session
I think this guy can fuck off. If he wants to change, he can. But he doesn't seem to want to. I'd rather not see him enter the union and then become protected.
Great jorb Boston! Let's jump on this landmine to distract us from our league-leading 10 & 2 record!

Boston cuts ties, Seabass apologizes.
Looks like the ‘new information’ is that the organizations his agency said he was working with haven’t worked with him, and that the other organizations they said he was volunteering for were part of his court mandated community service.
Probably does it for him. Unless the Oilers get desperate.
Lying shitbag as an adult, no matter what he did as a child. Catapult him into the sun.
I’m actually curious what bettman meant about miller being ineligible. AFAIK he’s aged out of the draft, considered undrafted, and officially an UFA after this years draft as he turns 21 before years end. So for all intents and purposes, there’s nothing stopping the Boston contract being valid.

Whoever in Bruins' mgmt thought this was a good idea should get their balls put in a salad shooter.
I was wondering too, but I bet in every NHL contract there are a shitload of papers to sign that include things like ethics clauses, "code of conduct", etc, things like that. Obviously doesn't stop everyone, but I'm betting that there's enough there that Bettman could lean on if public opinion was strong (like in this case). Something like the material breach of contract that LA used to terminate Mike Richards when he was caught with drugs at the border. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. It really isnt the same. It was years in the making. He's had many opportunity to "make it right". Or at least "show" that he cares. He cant even do that so fuck himThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

If the kid showed he was truly sorry for what he did in the years leading to the draft, I would probably shrug my shoulders at the idea of him entering the NHL. Kids can be cruel.
But he didn't release anything until it became apparent that his conduct would make his entry into the NHL a problem. THEN he became "sorry" - although his statements still minimize what he did so it's clear he really isn't.
I think it's lovely the NHL refused his entry into the league. I think it makes a big statement as to the quality of people they want to play for them. Similarly, I think Boston signing him in the first place says a lot as well.
For the record, that never happened. Bettman made some vague statements about him not being "eligible" but with no clear basis as to what mechanism they would use to exclude him. The only party that made any decisions here was the Bruins. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think the undisputed FührerCommissioner stating (not vaguely, at all) that "he is ineligible" carries about as much weight as anything possibly could. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The "Bruins decision" here was dictated to them by Führer Bettman.
Bruins owner is the chairman of the NHL Board of Governors and is effectively Bettman's boss. Gary's comments were an attempted smokescreen for the Bruins stepping away from Miller, there wasn't anything substantive about them. And I doubt there's a clause in the CBA that says you don't get to play if the Commish doesn't like you.
I looked but couldnt find any basis on how he's ineligible. But I do believe that Bettman can suspend him indefinitely based on his pass behavior. Along with public pressure I dont think it's unrealistic?
