I'd agree if the players weren't unionized, but the only time he's been able to hold direct sway over NHL participation to my recollection is a non-unionized coach (Quenneville) who wasn't part of the CBA. "Suspended" would imply that Bettman would take direct action to remove his ability to play, "ineligible" indicates there's some unnamed CBA criteria the player has not met to be able to play. With Boston stepping away I assume we'll never know what Gary had in mind or if it was just PR fluff.

I looked but couldnt find any basis on how he's ineligible. But I do believe that Bettman can suspend him indefinitely based on his pass behavior. Along with public pressure I dont think it's unrealistic?
I'd bet it's as simple as "all contracts require approval by a representative of the League Executive" and that's been rubber stamped 99.4% of the time. Every once in an extremely rare case, the league takes a longer look at it to make sure nothing dirty is going on and in this even more rare case, Bettman can choose to flex his muscles and say "I'll decide if he comes in!"

If they let this prick in, that shitty union will protect him no matter what he does. No. Matter. What.
    See Dennis Wideman.

Tonnes of talent in the pool.
Is Miller worth the risk? Probably 50 kids ready to step over him for the NHL chance with a better resume.

NHL draft is never a draftee's market.

I guess he (or his agent more likely) put out letters in his draft eligible year saying he wasn't going to talk about "the incident" in draft interviews so that made a bunch of teams pass over him right. The whole point of those interviews are to help them get an understanding of your character. Also I don't know if I would classify this as "a bullying incident when he was 14". It was much more than a single incident or a string of incidents over a short period of time. This was years of abuse that culminated in a court case in which he was found guilty. Kids are mean, but this is next level fucked up.

The victim put a statement out for the first time (that wasn't through his parents). The details seem to line up with what came out in the court case so, in my opinion, seem pretty plausible. . Even though its through that frou frou "Hockey Diversity Alliance" its still a pretty sad story to read.

In other words, fuck this kid. If he wants to play pro hockey then go to Russia where they don't care if you're a dirt bag.

14 games and 9 points for the Blow Jackets.
15 games and 9 points for the Ducks.

Canucks are an amazing team this year. They are the first team in NHL history to go winless in 6 games when holding a multi-goal lead within their first 15 games of a season.

We better see a top 3 pick at this years draft.

Not even Bieksa's retirement pep talk could get them going.

Very entertaining Vegas V Oilers game tonight. A lot more sloppy than I would've expected for the first 40min but the third was all business. These are 2 premier teams that are incredibly dangerous when things come together and I think this was and excellent game to see. I think it's very important to study these games because the Pacific has at least 3 powerhouse teams, this year.
The Oilers winner in OT was incredibly well played. These are two very serious teams that everyone need to observe in the Western Conference.

    Wow, Ducks!
Will Dallas Eakins be the first coach canned this year?

*Don't care if someone already fired a coach. He sucks.

Holy fuck sack, Pittsburgh is the worst looking team I've seen this year against Toronto.
Fuck my life, I cannot believe how awful they are playing.

I can't believe the Devils. What a turnaround from last season.

My bro likes the devils, so that's nice. Incredible for them to be leading that division.

Canucks are only a few points from a playoff spot.

    Western Conference is garbage.

Very successful road trip just completed. Maybe they're starting to warm up.

Sneaky good, sure. Only thanks to the abundance of scoring depth this season, with several players around 1ppg. But that's all for naught if they can't play defense and Demko isn't playing like Demko. They badly need a legit shutdown defenseman, if nothing else.

They had a great road trip, but need to keep this momentum going if they want to vie for a playoff spot. Very fragile team that tends to fall apart when the losses mount, so it is imperative they don't get on a losing streak again.

Lol ya I was surprised by that piss poor start but props for not letting Bruce go and fighting on. Could be dangerous or could fade out , time will tell
