Zacha gets called for a 2 minute minor in OT for a "faceoff violation", for handling the puck

On review, turns out the Toronto player was actually the one who handled the puck...so the refs reverse their decision to penalize Zacha

Why does it not then become a 2 minute minor for a faceoff violation to the Leafs player?

Because he didn't handle the puck either, he reached for it but the puck was shot away before he could.

Probably going to get a lot of Oiler hate here but I'm amazed how well they've closed out the season.

Since dumping Puljujarvi and adding Ekholm the Oilers have gone 16-2-1 and are 2 points off first in the West.

It would be interesting to see that. And the benefit is that at least one of them would lose in the final, which is heartbreaking. Don't like the idea of one of them winning however.

Oilers have the best playoffs win percentage of any team. (58.8% all time). Hopefully they can stretch that lead out further. Boston is dead last in the league.

We’ll convert you, hell I’ve cheered for the Flames that one time. The Oilers are just so dynamic and exciting to watch right now, definitely hasn’t been this way for a very long time. They are also out scoring their opponents while penalty killing, which is hilarious.

How any stat system ever invented fails to recognize the team with the greatest regulation season's worth of points in history as the favourite to win the Cup is "no words". It's fuckin RIDICULOUS! Honestly, tell me more about how the team with fully 24 more points than Edmonton isn't favored. How many Tranny Bud Lights does it take to do that Marth??!


Aside from that... If I were Edmonton, I'd throw the final game as I'd prefer to play LA in the first round rather than Winnipeg. (Assuming I understand the Wild Card correctly and that the weakest wild card team plays the strongest team in the first round.)

This is a bad take. Strength of opponent matters, and the opponents are unknowable, in fact, they are very knowable in the NHL Playoff system. Edmonton will have much weaker opponents in the first two rounds than Boston.
