Yeah Eight is good once… it gets a little repetitive, but chillin at the bar at Shokunin is way better value!

The tuna selection in Japan was mind blowing to me. I had good sushi experiences, but the tuna was the real differentiator to me. We really dont have bad food here in Canada.

Are you saying the tuna in Japan was bad?

    I’m not really understanding

A friend of mine was a sous chef at the River Cafe for years. I met the actor "Common" through him, as Common used to go there to eat frequently when he was filming that train show or whatever outside of Calgary.

Have to try a few of the recently mentioned places in the thread, back in Calgary tomorrow for a few weeks.

Usually have our anniversary dinner at River Cafe, we have a reservation at Longview this time around.

Went to Chairmans Steakhouse and it was pretty good despite the reviews about it's service, the service we received was excellent, food was very good and also tried the "Thai Dragon Coffee", has the same owners as Vintage on 11th ave I believe.

I've been to Chairman's many times and I have never once had bad service.

Nah it was what was good. So many good fatty cuts, lots of variety. The rest of the sushi I had was, IMO, indistinguishable from good sushi here in Canada.

The ramen on the other hand was to die for. Nothing in Calgary can touch it.

Still waiting for Rage to take us all to Nick's

Went to Longview for the first time, and whilst it was enjoyable, I would have a hard time calling it worth the drive.
100% agree with this - I have been a bunch of times over the last few years and enjoyed it, but my wife and I went in February and it seems like the quality of the meat has gone downhill. The service/view/character was still great, but there are way better steaks in Calgary (or off my BBQ).

Yo bro, are you from that goat Calgary car forum that get salty over lawn care, land rovers and circumcisions? That's straight fire.
