Go to therapy lol changed my life for the better
Or read the book "How to win friends and influence people".

It's actually quite good if you give a shit, like in your relationship.

And my old work made me go take the course in person lol!!

    Another excellent one was
"The Anatomy of Human Destructiveness" by Erich Fromm

Lol. Should be mandatory reading before joining the online world.

Employer made Toma go to a 'how to make friends and get people to listen to you' course. Ironic.

    Don't think it worked.

Dale Carnegie good stuff I should read it again.

OP may want to consider the benefits of not debating with thier wife and girlfriend.

I've been in enough long term relationships to know that even when you're right, it's best if you can contain your own ego and let her do her.

Not saying I'm good at practicing it though...

If hes a Trumper or freedumber, it's a way of life for him. His wife will leave him when he joins a militia to "protect our democracy." Lol

All the while he will be wondering "why is everyone else so blind?!?!"

Best case scenario is both parties can realize is its ok to agree to disagree. Unless something directly effects your morals or crosses that line most debates are a waste of time and you end up arguing over the same dumb stuff all the time.
With that being said I'm super grateful my wife uses logic and is not an extremist.
I have previously gone on dates with women where political views which I did not bring up made my ears bleed.

Well at least you can go home after knowing you have a sensible wife to chat with.

So what about when its regarding parenting issues where there isn't a common ground. Such as, "Do we do something about the teenager not doing his chores?". I want to ground him into the dark ages but i would settle with mild form of manual labour where her counter argument is, "No"

Ground your wife into the dark ages as well until she gets the point.

Parenting strategy is one of the few areas where you must find a combined and consistent way forward. Not saying you both need to agree, but you need to agree on a path.
No form of discipline works if both parents aren't onboard.

OP mentioned social issues. So it can't parenting; which I agree needs to be a united front.

Need details/context if its just petty BS or actual moral issues.

Probably deserves it's own thread, but with parenting disagreements, I find it helpful to think about the fact that children will always test limits to find out what things they can control in their environment.

With kids of any age, responsibilities are what gives rise to privileges. If there are chores, they need to be done or there are normal consequences. Not "punishments", which are the wrong way to think of things, just something as close to "natural consequences" as possible.

And sometimes with kids, you need to give them some empathy if there are temporary issues.

My neighbor once told his kids to behave or he'd sell them to the hutterites. I think that's a good strategy because it installs fear of the parents and the reality of consequences, and a mistrust of groups of people with different belief systems.

Now that's a good ChatGPT prompt.
"Expand this anecdote into a novel".
