Post State select hot water tank.

Wondering if anybody has experience with these and knows if they're able to be purchased anywhere in Calgary? This was the builder grade hot water tank in my crib. It's getting up there in age so I would like to replace it. I had one plumbing outfit doing work at my residence who offers $1,000 50 gallon tank however this was followed up with all all the venting requirements have changed which was going to add $2,000 to the install price.

Looking online it seems that they still make my model number and I figure it would be a lot easier to just replace it if that's at all possible.

Fwiw my tank is 15+ yes old.

Get a second opinion. Pete the plumber is great. I had to update my venting when they did mine 4 years ago but was only $400 extra not $2000. Have materials gone up that much in price? Or do you have a really awkward/long run or something?

I also upgraded my tank with pete the plumber. That company gets my business every time now.

No clue but that's who gave me the quote. I don't see why I cant just swap the tank for the same model and call it a day?

HW tanks like everything else have sky rocketed. Just replaced the tank in my rental, non power vent 40 gallon was $1500.00, pretty sure this was maybe 1000 2 years ago

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

If it was easier and more people knew about it, changing the anode every few years should make tanks last close to forever.
