Default Retrofit glass doors onto interior fireplace

We have a gas assisted wood fireplace, but it only has a mesh screen to cover it, so we rarely use it due to fear of a spark coming out and hitting the carpet. Is there a way to retrofit some glass doors onto it to make it safer to use? Right now, I only occasionally burn java logs in there, but they go for 4+ hours, and sometimes you just wanna burn some wood.

We have a similar set up - minus the carpet. We went to Hearth and Home to look for options - they didn't really have anything there but they gave us a business card of a guy they said "is one of the only ones" to do it.

I did a quick google - Custom Glass Fireplace Doors Calgary and a guy in Midnapore came up. I can't be sure it is the same guy until I find the business card. Otherwise, just call Hearth and Home and they will give you his info.

I advise being less scared. The mesh on those are super fine and do an excellent job, plus you've already got the first ~14" protected.
You can also burn wood that doesn't spit such as birch. Never ever cedar never.

*Just my 2¢... If you really want glass, there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

You're not supposed to burn softwoods in a fireplace anyhow are you?

The added bonus of not losing heat through there in the winter, and a/c through there in the summer would be nice. We can close the chimney, but it whistles like mad anyways.
The wife also isn't a fan of the smoke smell permeating the room, so it's just easier to get doors, than argue about it.

I have the same setup as well with H/W floors.

We bought an additional free standing screen that sits on the hearth.

    Seems to work well.

Put lino down over the carpet. #beyondapproved
Seems to take all sorts of abuse then.
