Hockey culture is as toxic as you choose to let it be. It's not a cult that you hand your child over to. You can still beat the nonsense out of your kid in the unlikely event that they start dragging that shit home.
Plus, it's about a 99.8% chance that your kids are incredibly average at hockey, play it for a few years, have fun and that's it.
Everyone thinks their Atom AAA kid is going to be signed next year and that last tripping call just fucked him out of a full-ride scholly at Notre Dame... Major Junior and NHL caliber players are extremely rare and they are exposed to a different hockey environment.
