If honest door is anywhere close, it'll be a bloodbath.
The % of assessment increase doesn't matter. If you care about actual increase, just make sure your increase is below city average.

Sounds like if assessment is less than +15%, you should pay whatever Gondek proposed, +8%. But we still don't know how much the province is gonna screw us on school portion yet and never find out til next spring.

Has anyone gone through the process of appealing property value when it comes out in the summer? I noticed my house is the most expensive on my street for city assessments which seems incorrect as many others have quite a bit larger sq footage.
I did, we were very highly overvalued (hundreds of thousands) because the previous owners renovated the kitchen with permits, and the city assumed they renovated the whole house. Logged my complaint, told them it was a split level and not a 2 storey which they had it recorded as. They sent out someone to assess it, and the city dropped valuation significantly.

Top tip, don’t be home when the assessment official is there. They didn’t seem to care and just looked at the outside of my place to make their estimate.

Also put an 80's Camaro on cinder blocks, and an old washing machine on its back, as lawn displays. Maybe a fridge too, I know a guy with one available.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

I think that's his strategy too. Fridge is just out on the lawn lowering his property value temporarily.

Mine went up almost $700. Man it's getting really expensive to live in this city.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.
