2 premium ones and the rest 'standard' fares. No Europe this year but was in Paris for work twice last year including the normal Vancouver, Kelowna, Mexico run. Still only hit silver.

This year: 2 x Kelowna, 2 x Vancouver, 1 x Seattle, 1 x Montreal, 1 x Vegas, 1 x Mexico. Granted one of those Kelowna's was mostly on points from my RBC card. So I think I got $1 for both ways. I'll have to pay more attention to optimize this.

What's your actual tier qualifying spend?

If you're not getting 100% of your base fare towards that then you're not booking eligible flights

There's 2 (or 3?) tiers of 'standard' fare, and I believe only the cheapest of cheap doesn't earn you qualifying spend. And you don't earn on flights purchased with WSD.

Apparently next year's platinum packages aren't being mailed out til February because they're "updating the package" for a better experience or something. Call me crazy, but how many ways can you mail out a couple personalized luggage tags?

I never even got platinum luggage tags. They sent me gold tags couple years back and that was it.

When I book with avion points I still want though you admittedly need to watch what fare class avion is giving you, if you book avion for an ultra basic then ya you won’t earn.

Also earn is super muted on WJ Vacations packages. It’s on some small fraction of what you spend.

I think it was AC that got extra greasy where this class is 0% earn, this class is 25% , this one 47%, and this one 132% or some nonsense.

I screwed up optimizing my points earlier this year, booked delta to Kona not fully understanding how the deal worked and apparently I only got WJ dollars for a delta booking but no status dollars.

If I would have booked the same flights under a WJ flight code I would have had full earn ( half the legs were WJ planes lol ). Oh well you win some you lose some.
