just curious how the state of the trails may be west of cgy? Is it too early to bring out the ole regular bikes?

Way too early… fish creek will be the first to dry out, and it’s still way too early also
Thought west bragg was mid to late may, if it’s not icy it will be wet. Don’t want to be out there wrecking the trails in the wet.
Yeah it’s going to be super late this season. Just snowed Monday ffs… was ideal fat bike conditions last weekend, with the warm weather finally starting it’s going to be a sloppy mess for a while.
First trail that’s going to dry out in bragg will be Billy Dog on moose mountain… you’ll want first hand confirmation that’s ice free though, pretty tough trail if it’s not
Possible to do Sideshow Bob in NW Calgary soon. It's south facing in the sun, no trees.
Update:
Bowmont looks good to go (haven’t personally been yet, but lots of people riding it)
Fish Creek is sooo close, but still some death ice and pretty bad mud in just the wrong places
Moose… nope, @mmbtstrails on Instagram has an update from today. Even Billy Dog is pretty snow covered still
Based on the above it’s safe to say west bragg is no good either
Neighbour blew their shoulder out in fish Creek on ice this past weekend. Done for most of the season now I suspect.
How do you blow out your shoulder on a pedal bike??This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Falling off the bike would do it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Rode McKinnon Flats area (SE of CGY) last weekend and it was all dry except for a couple small areas. Highly recommended for an early season rip.

Any good loop trails in Drumheller area with some downhill portions?
If you toss heat maps on in trailforks there is 3-4 zones that look to have about 50-100m of elevation change. All I can picture though is the old school drop in tv show where they just sent it off cliffs and ate shit every timeThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Biked Mckinnons Flats today. Dusty dry already. Pretty chill zone. Ski Saturday bike Sunday?! God I love spring
Went out to Swansea after seeing some strava uploads… it’s good to go (well, besides needing the obvious early season maintenance, still brake bumps from last season)… below the 2km lot, yeah… that was not fun going above that
Just rode all the major fish creek tracks, the odd soft spot (nothing crazy enough to even leave a rut) and the only ice was on the flat collectors (and just small patches)
Gonna call it good to go!
Paskapoo slopes are pretty much good to go now as well.
