Does the video game explain why they decided to go straight through the city, even though there's 1000 ways to go around?

In the video game, it happens in Pittsburgh. In he show, Kansas City, probably because Pittsburgh has a ring road and Kansas City does not. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Liked last night’s episode. Totally surprised by the ending. Really hit me when the tough little girl was asked what she’s afraid of and said “being alone”, seeing as she doesn’t have any else in the world except Joel who said he doesn’t see her as family.
Best episode of the show so far. Glad we got it early because of the superbowl.

TWD would've milked her for 8 seasons.
Good episode - the last one. Not sure if I'd call it 'best so far' but decent. I like the pace of the show for sure and not trying to milk each story line for fuckin seasons.
I enjoyed the Nanton busted up UFA cardlock sign at the end.
Looking around
Wondering what became
Of what I once knew

Neat to see the downtown bits in E05 too. Good episode
Interesting fact. Those mushroom folks were just meth and fent zombies and not paid actors. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That big zombie was kind of funny to see in a TV show. I know they are emulating the game but on a TV show seems funny and sort of 'takes away' from the 'seriousness' of the show itself. For example, I watched all 4 episodes with the wife again before watching the 5th one together and while she was somewhat 'scared' of the zombies, she kinda let out a chuckle at the sign of that big mofo. lol
The production team of the Last of Us had purchased our old family W124 E300.
Old girl had 480,000 kms on her and I had it listed on Kijiji for $3,500 with full disclosure that it had an intermittent problem where it would shut off when after about 30-60 minutes of driving on a hot day and would not restart until it cools down.
When they first reached out to me they didn't mention that it was for the show so I though it was a scam, got the typical line of "I'll pay you your asking price and tow the car away"
I ignored several emails from them thinking it was a scam, eventually they mentioned that it's for the production of the Last of Us and that they love the look of the car and want to use it in the show.
At that point I was happy for them to pickup the car.
They showed up with a brand new HD Silverado Duramax and a flat deck trailer, handed me the cash and didn't even take a look at the car and towed it away.
I wasn't sure if I'd actually see it in the show until episode 5 where where it was featured within the first few minutes, and then again in the middle of the episode downtown..
Pretty cool to have our car on the show as we've been fans of the video games series for many years.
That is really cool man, thanks for sharing!
Impressive it has that many miles on her too. Fantastic condition

Haha that's wicked!
I would have asked for some show perks on top of the cash. lol
Nice. That’s actually a cool story bro!

One of the initial scenes of the series was the residential cul-de-sac, which was built from scratch!

I noticed it too and took a pic of it walking thru the set haha.
