Xbox randomly turns off please help

Hi bought my son an xbox one for Xmas second hand, and sometime it just turns off and then instantly turns back on, I thought it was overheating but it’s not the fan is working fine, tried restarting it, resetting it, he really doesn’t want me to send it away he’s only 7, has anyone please got any ideas to help me sort it out many thanks

Did you see it working before you bought it? If not, I'm certain the previous owner tried this already and couldn't make it work.

The original Xbox one had an external power brick that was prone to failure. Your symptoms matches that of a failing power brick. There's replacements on amazon that you can buy to see if that's the problem and return it if it's not.

The One S and One X moved the power supply internally, it's less prone to failures, but when it does fail you'll need to get it repaired, which is typically not worth it anymore at the prices they're selling for used.
