You know you're a true fan when 'you're out of the game' but still 'down to 70 pairs or so'. lol

There's something about standing in line for shoes in a First World country run by a Socialist coalition...

Your missing the part where your standing in line with a bunch of stinky teens who are fighting over tiny profits. They'd rather stand in line for 3 hrs for $25 profit then work a real job.

The resellers crack me up. $/hr under min wage no question.

Know. What's neat? Getting $15 every hour for lots of hours. Literally hundreds per week. Incredible system.

I'll dabble here and there on things I will actually wear instead of collecting. My collecting days are over. Re-sellers and hypebeast collabs ruined it for me over the last decade or so. I've sold almost everything I had including all my rare Jordans. I'm down to about 60-70 pairs now. Mostly vintage Nike running and Air Maxes.
Ahh that's crazy. I was never a collector, I just buy shit that I like and wear it. It pisses off my collecting buddies. Collabs? I'll buy it if they look cool to me (eg Union), and pass on anything that looks stupid (eg anything travis Scott). Yea the peak of bots and resellers over covid made it not fun, but it's getting better. Think the sneaker market is at its peak. This year I think I've been able to get everything I wanted. Resellers aren't botting 100 pairs of anything anymore. Also helps that most of the stores have a no return policy on new drops.

What I think is ruining it all next are reps. All the hyped shoes in the lineup worn by the kids today were 100% reps with easy tells. Only real pair of hyped shoe was the TS olives that the JD sports corp marketing chick was wearing. Reps make it extremely hard to buy used now compared to the old days, they've gotten really good if you know what you're looking for. The shittier reps with clear tells is what's flooding the market now with kids having easy access using apps like DH Gate, but eventually people will figure out where to get the good hard to tell ones. I like buying used, since me and the kids all wear our shit.

It was enjoyable chatting up with the kids and the staff there. But ya, none of the shoes on sale are reselling for anything more than $50 a pair. That said, some of those guys cleared out 4 pairs per person they're with in an hour, so that's a little better haha. They let you go back in line after your purchase.

At the peak bots were 5 to 10k in us dollars. There was the odd one higher then 10k USD. Most I personally paid for one was 5k USD. By the time I decided to sell it I recouped $350.

I got an email the other day to buy one for $50. Bots are way less expensive these days for sure.

If you have a desk job or are around a computer early in the am for the releases using a bot would be mostly straight forward.

If anyone is interested, I have a pair of Adult 4.5 (not grade school) sized AJ1 Spiderman next chapter's for sale. Poor logistics planning, ended up with an extra pair that just showed up. Will sell that for retail ($260 + GST). Obscure size, it's for adults with small feet, so all you guys with your asian wives and sidepiece can wear these.

Also, Friday the AJ1 Low Black Toes is releasing, I have a bunch of raffles set up so might have extra pairs in 12 or 13. Let me know if you're interested (again at retail price) otherwise I'll pass on them if I'm chosen.

    Photos of the Spider-Man’s.

For those who have used StockX... How can a lower priced sale happen when I have a higher bid in place? Sounds fishy as hell. I have a bid at 130...and there was a sale at 88 while my bid was active? (Been there for 24hrs) Name: Screenshot_20230802-195315.jpg

    1. They collect data from external sources outside StockX.
    2. The price does not include additional processing costs due to being international. Your bid of $130 might be worth $100 against a us seller.

I went thru the same thing when they changed the system to include international processing and duty costs. It used to be the same but you’d get ding duty and ups fees. For more expensive buys, I actually have a US account where I can ship to US for a lot cheaper (roughly 20%). Cheaper below retail stuff or things I’m in no rush for, I bid low and hope to match with a Canadian seller at some point.

It sucks being Canadian haha. Now that you’ve read this, you can click “yes” to understanding their data disclaimer.

    Thanks!

My son got tired of playing the waiting bid game and decided to Buy now.. then he tells me its another color that he wanted more. All others were another $50+ so this will work just fine.

    It’s all downhill from here.

Took my kids about a year to surpass my collection in numbers. I have patience, they don’t. I still won’t let them buy above retail, within reason. 30 or 40 bucks over I’ll give it a pass.

I assume you guys are buying Nike/AJ for the style? I no longer own any after discovering how much comfier Adidas are. So I've been sticking to UB/NMD/Stan Smiths.

Even their basketball shoes (Harden/Dame) are more comfier than the Kobe/Lebron's I've had.

I might give Nike dunk low / AJ1 low another try though.

A buddy managed to win a draw for me for Yeezys. Can't wait to try them as I've heard they are one of the comfiest shoes.

I love my dunks. But they’re just a random pair I found at Champs in chinook.

How do guys get the limited releases? I keep hearing about draws but haven’t seen any. The wolf gray dunks coming out on the 29th look dope

Mostly for style and nostalgia here. Can’t compare comfort with anyone, feet size and shape vary so much. Stan smiths are the most uncomfortable shoes for me. Wide feet syndrome. Jordan 6 is my most comfortable, followed by 3, and I tolerate Jordan 1s by loose tying like a child if there’s a colorway I like (there aren’t many) but generally I’m not a fan of 1s.

I like AJ1 and AF1 thanks to @rage2 for introducing but yea mostly for the style. I don't find them particular uncomfy but the style is the main reason.

The Yeezy's I bought from @riander5 are definitely way more comfortable than any AJ's or AF's, though they are slightly tight on me at 11.5 whereas the AF/AJ are perfect at that size. I would definitely get more Yeezy's in the future if I can get them at retail otherwise no bueno. But I am too lazy or don't have the 'know-how' to do it myself upon release so likely won't be running into any for a while. Haha.

I think UB are better half size up. You just need the Adidas confirmed app. You select your size and enter the draw. If you win they will charge you and ship the product.

I checked out the app and they have this darker pair and fully white pair. Darker wasn't available in my size but fully white is which of course means I don't want it since it's readily availably. But app looked call and 'participated' in Yeezy slides thing. They are ugly as sin so dunno what I was thinking but about 5 seconds ago as I was typing this just got the notification that I didn't get the slides. lol. Probably for the best. lol
