Lower production numbers are being imposed. GM came out and unapologetically told the public - we’re keeping inventory so it matches our pricing strategy. RIP car deals

That all sounds fine and dandy but i think gm will be forced to rethink that strategy once interest rates start smacking people in the face and they realize they cant afford 75k xlt trucks

I honestly don’t think that will stop people.

It’ll be debt and payments - because that’s how people live.

    We’ll never see MSRP’s like 2019. I just priced out a new M2 with options. 100k cdn

That’s what I expect to pay for a base 911, which is now 135 cdn out the door.

Don't forget the luxury tax. If you can afford it, good for you. [/freeland cringey voice]

Unfortunately they've got a history of not making the best decisions and yet still get bailout money time and time again.
Maybe next time will be the last if it's shortly after this stunt?

    Interesting read on the history.

I’m starting to think they will lower production targets, keep re selling old that requires expensive maintance up keep the dealers will thrive.

We also might be in the window where people are so upside down they can’t afford to sell for less. Dealers have paid way too much for the used vehicles they can’t sell for less.

If the average person requires a f150 they can buy a xlt but it’s 70k+ now, not affordable at all, they will be forced to buy used.
Shit's gotten completely out of hand lol, 70k for an XLT. This is US but trucks are crazy these days:

I guess trucks are high in demand because of doom and gloom from apocalyptic scenarios?

What's the curve for midsize SUV's that pretend to be both luxury cars and trucks?

    Ute-Я-us?

I like the Santa Cruz commercial that basically says it's only a good truck for putting stinking hockey gear into the back of

I'm not totally turned off by the Ford Maverick though...

Or is this the wrong segment?

I’ve been looking at early 2nd Gen Cayenne V6s but apparently even that engine can implode randomly.

I’d say more utility than the average F150 driver will ever use.

Believe it or not a 24 of beer and a hockey bag doesn’t take up that much payload.

Someone at Charlesglen Toyota got their hands on some real good crack. Only ~$23500 over MSRP in 2017…

4Runner is overdue for a new gen and I'm very hopeful it has a hybrid system. Still love my 4R for a lot of reasons. Sporty it is not but reliability/dependable = no stress.

That said, the expected waitlist is sure to be nauseating.
