    Default Gran Turismo 7

GT7 has been out for close to a year now and it's in a pretty good state of play at the moment.
Thought I'd start a thread where GT7 players can chat about the game, it'd be fun to add other Beyonders on PSN and compare time trials and have a chance to race each other.

Post your GT7 username if you'd like, mine is Carguy403

What do you guys think about the new PSVR 2 release? I'm looking forward to trying it out in Gran Turismo.

    Locked 120 FPS confirmed

i have a psvr 2 on preorder, i'll move the ps5 over to my sim when it arrives. my pc doesn't have the power to do vr so i'm kinda excited. wish F1 2023 has vr in it, i'm not a fan of gran turismo since gt3.

Given PS5 is only slightly better than 1080ti, you must have an old PC.

I am curious on how PS5 games deal with some of VR tech tho, like rendering based on eye tracking to reduce need of powerful GPU.

Yep mine is old, I don’t feel like getting into the pc game. Seems reviews are kinda mixed about the new vr, I’ll try it and see if it’s worth keeping.

Maybe it will be like virtual boy. Haha.

Dynamic resolution on peripheral vision with eye tracking plays a big part, also being able to optimize all the software and hardware specifically to the PS5 is another big reason it can do so much with so little.
It's supposed to be running 90 FPS minimum to minimize motion sickness.

    Also a 4K screen resolution is 3840 x 2160 = 8,294,400 pixels
    PSVR 2 is 2000 x 2040 per eye = 4,080,000 X 2 eye = 8,160,000 pixels

So the amount of pixels rendered is pretty much the same as a 4K resolution on a monitor or TV

That's what I'm getting at. PS5 cannot render at 4K60 with all details on, let alone 90hz. So something gotta give away in VR, question is how noticable.

And I have done racing in VR, eye doesn't match seat motion is quite hard to adjust to.

I had the PSVR2 on pre-order but cancelled since the demand was so bad that I can afford to wait for some real reviews.

I tried VR racing on an old headset and it made me nauseated under braking. Not sure if a higher resolution set would help.

    PSN is phreezee.

GT7 runs at a locked 60 FPS 99% of the time with full details and ray tracing turned off (honestly couldn’t care less about ray tracing in a racing title, it’s not like you’re gonna stop mid race to admire the reflection)

So with dynamic peripheral resolution I could see it hitting 90FPS because the overall resolution is lower in the areas you’re not looking at.

^Added. Should get a couple of others and start a league.

I dragged the rig in front of the TV for the first time in months. Crazy how much I spent on this thing and I barely play.

    That would be awesome.

Yeah coming back after not playing for a while feels weird, but usually can back into the groove after an hour or two.

What does your setup look like?

I put in a few hours yesterday and finished some menu books.

That looks awesome, I might do something similar this year.
It would be a pretty sweet setup if PSVR2 ends up working out well.

I'll let everybody know my personal experience with it once I get it.

Right now I'm just using the table clamp with my Fanatec GT DD Pro, thankfully the table it's mounted to weights 400 lbs so its rock solid, have the load cell pedal kit as well and the whole pedal box is screwed into the foot platform I made

Rig is Canadian (Quebec, no duty, free shipping) from ASR if you're interested https://www.advancedsimracing.com/co...nced-simracing
It was the most economical when I was looking.

Has anyone picked up a playseat trophy? I was looking at that since the logitech was ok on the playseat challenge but the csl dd on it is too heavy and out of balance.
