    Default Best Sounding/Tame Mufflers

    Hey,

i know you guys are deep on opinion and experience with everything none car related, so i thought i'd see if anyone had opinions on something actually relevant to cars.. haha

What's the best sounding, but not obnoxious muffler in your opinion? Must be available in SS... Going on a SC 6.2, will have Long tube headers, X pipe, and thinking resonators as well? 2.5"

    Thanks!

Corsa IMO makes the best mufflers on the market.

You think thats going to be tame? You animal.

I had a Borla S-type catback (no downpipe headers or anything else) on my 5.0 2013 Mustang and it was great. The touring would have been a touch too quiet and the atak would have been way too much.

    Corsa or SLP.

Borla is definitely in the obnoxious category imo.

It's always finding a balance, quieter mufflers rob power. A good compromise would be upsizing to twin 3.0" and choosing quieter mufflers instead of trying to squeeze supercharged 6.2 power through twin 2.5". For resonators and mufflers that are on the tamer side but don't rob power I recommend Vibrant.

My brother had magnaflow on his CTS-V (LS6). It was very tame, and no drone.

Any bullet type is going to be loud. If you had resonators plus bullet style it might be okay. If you can fit them, Dynomax Super Turbo are a solid choice for a milder sound

You can forget about all Black Widow mufflers, except for maybe the Venom 300 or 250.

"Best sounding" and "tame" don't go together for me so I don't have much advice other than that. I have mufflers on my truck that I could almost stick my arm through.

With the exact same combo (SC6.2, LTs, X-pipe), running 3” pipe, I first had Stainless Works which were loud and raspy. Went to Ultraflows and resonators…definitely tamed it down and took away the rasp. I’ll look for vids.

Still had the stock cam so idle was pretty tame…but LSs always sound like a tractor somewhat so you can’t win.

I find turbocharger(s) on a V8 make the best muffler.

Thermal R&D also makes very nice straight through stainless mufflers that don't sound like all you can eat mexican the next morning.

Had one on my SRT-4 years ago.

God I don't miss that LS firing order very tractor indeed

Super charger whine is a love/hate and I'm firmly on the hate side. So, if it were me, I'd be looking for something to either drown that out or somewhat attenuate it.
    If that's you, consider that.
If that's not you, consider the opposite of that.
