I recall this happening in the mid-90's where these guys in pickup trucks with freezers in the back would ring your doorbell and say; "Do you like good food?". I don't care how much of a perceived deal it is, I'm not shelling out $150 for meat from a freezer in the back of a beat up pickup truck that came from who knows where.

Didn’t this evolve into McSweaney’s (sp?) then later literally “good food”

…one of these guys now owns a popular garden centre

we have some homeless people that regularly call the office to clean our windows. $60 and they spend a few hours cleaning them inside and out. Super great deal and your helping them out.

Use that for your baseline for the kids knocking on your doors.

These guys rang my doorbell a few weeks ago. Stood at the end of my sidewalk on the phone for a while lookin' sketchy AF, while I watched him through my doorbell camera like an old neighbourhood watch lady. Protip: If you're selling shit door to door, try not to look like one of the methheads hangin' out front of the downtown safeway, please (I mean, I won't answer regardless of what you look like, but i definitely won't answer if you're out here lookin' like skinny pete).

Did they win you over at the door or did you go to a store?

M&M Meats is about $160 for 21 lbs.

That's a lot of chicken fingers though ha! Does Costco not sell something decent?

I have a no solicitation sign that you pass by coming to my front door. If you ring doorbell / knock on my door after ignoring said sign, I quickly let you know I want nothing to do with whatever bullshit they're selling. If they continue, my direct side comes out rather quickly.

Did the same at our house. I came home and my wife said some sketchy guy was walking back and forth on the side walk out front for a 1/2 hour on his phone and was still out there. Then 15 minutes later he finally comes up to the door for his shtick.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Yeah, I really wondered what he was up to out there... getting a pep-talk from his homie? reviewing his sales101 notes from the last WFG advisor meeting? Something else?

I had a "Meat Guy" walk up to me after I pulled into my garage at like 9PM on a Saturday night. Was a nice enough dude but I don't really care what type of meat my neighbours are buying, that's not going to get me to buy anything, it's actually a deterrent because my neighbor is the whitest of white trash, if this sirloin is the creme de la creme for my neighbor I know to steer clear.

Had an encounter with the same company too im pretty sure. Same pitch, they were dropping off an order at the neighbors(bullshit story). Normally we wouldnt bother with this door to door but i thought if my neighbor was buying it must be decent. It was a young kid maybe mid 20's and another mid 20's female helping. He started his pitch about how their meats are this and that compared to others but the best line was him saying his palette prefers their meat over anyone elses. They asked us what types of meat we liked and he started pulling out boxes of it to show us, it looked ok until we got the prices. I think this was summer 2020 so prices at grocery stores werent stupid yet but i remember everything he was quoting was super high. We politely declined

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

I've actually bought some meat from the white van in the past and truthfully it was really good. Shrimp, New York Steaks, Salmon was all really nice, pricey though! Their Ginger Beef was fantastic, just for another perspective.
