Default Current rates for Trades in Oilsands

Doing a research project for work, and boss wanted to know what current rates were for trades in the Fort MacMurray area.
Not sure if there's a difference for local trades vs ones on FIFO arrangements and camp accommodations.

Interested in anything you can share regarding welders, fabricators, pipefitters, E&I Techs, scaffolding etc.

Let me know your thoughts, and particularly, how busy those trades and the companies that provide them are this year. I think it's a pretty tight market, but that's mostly an assumption.

Union rates are posted in their published CBA's and may tick a lot of boxes that you are looking for.

Do you have a suggestion for a specific union, local, bargaining unit or whatever so I can dig that up? I did find a list on the Alberta govt website, but it's something like 2000 agreements, and it's just a list of them without details.

CLAC is a pretty big union, no idea how you'll extract info from them (or any other union).

Maybe say you're lazy and looking to get paid somehow?

Anecdotal but E&I Techs are extremely hard to come by.
Most have converted to contract over the past year or two and are commanding huge money (~$250k+/yr)

Yeah Vengie, I'm hearing the same thing with other trades, and that was the start of this internal conversation with my boss about a potential project. Anyone who can help me get some solid-ish numbers with some kind of backup or reference would be doing me a big favour, and I'd buy you a beer, coffee, sandwich

If you work around the clock and start your career at 18, can you be a millionaire by 30?

Only a millionaire by 30? Why do you aspire to be poor?

Dual ticket JM max around $74/hr.

Project work, low end hourly wage likely starts around $40 and upward.

I've seen several turnaround postings $55+.

The $40 would be for general labor or helper or something wouldn't it? Seems lower than I assumed for any tradesman.

It's defintely low end, but rates have a wide range. Laborers could be in the $3x range. There are other factors such as LOA, retention etc that I see posted.

For this upcoming turnaround season I saw rates low $40 to $60s per hour + LOA / retention. From what I understand getting manpower(person power?) for turnarounds are going to be difficult and the companies offering top rates are obviously going to have an easier time.

I'm speaking of rates that employee is paid - not company charge out rates. I don't know what company charge out rates are these days, but they used to be 100+% of employee rate.
