It'll be interesting if this ends up in court because I thought the FIA cleared the team so it's just F1 motorsports that's rejecting them. Europe tends to have better competition laws that may make it viable to force a legal battle over the rejection.

I personally doubt it ends up in court. It would take years to get a judgement and by that time he'd have effectively poisoned the well if he did get in. Keep in mind that FIA is effectively just the sanctioning body, they do not control the F1 series and are not party to the Concorde agreement. Think of it like the NHL - the governing body is run by the member teams, and they make the call on when an expansion is granted. The expansion criteria is "will this make our series more money?"

Sky is reporting that Lewis was on hand for the Meeting and Toto dialed in from Home.
I feel gutted for the Merc team. Exactly 2 weeks before they unveil the new car they have been dealt with this.
