you cant seriously tell me he is signing with Ferrari for the 8th championship right? Ferrari had no chance during the last rule era and Merc has no problem paying him, but now that there is no chance for anyone to catch RB, why not cash out?

He signed a multi year contract. Not one year.
As a Fan of the Sport plus I am a fan of LH , I hope and believe that he is signing with a team which is going to give him the best chance of winning.
Again none of us know what he saw in the SIM and what data he was given by Ferrari.

I also don’t see it as a move made due to him wanting to ‘cash out’. The guy has no shortage of money and if he really was after the $, I am sure Merc would pay anything to keep him.

Drivers are going to gamble on the new engine regs. Different teams could nail it for the 2026 season.

The only hope Lewis has of winning another championship is that Ferrari finds some magic in the next round of rule changes and that RBR duffs it. Max is at the top of his game and in one of the best teams. The guy lives for racing while Lewis is thinking about a musical career, activism, being a restaurateur, prepping his clothing line. Max goes and tests GT3 cars and competes in esports racing in the offseason.

You are partially correct. According to the reports it looks like Ferrari paid a boat load of money to get his Signature.
Hope it is not a JV and BAR Story.

Also the SIM story is debunked by Toto. So it is not the 2024 car.
