Particle beam would probably punch through it pretty easy, especially since it is viewable with the human eye. Decent laser would probably be able to do it too.
Assuming its made of standard weather balloon material.
Fire the lazors? Assuming it could be mounted to an airplane, because the first 10,000 feet of atmosphere is actually quite thick.
BTW: This is a situation that goes against Canada building an anti-aircraft ability. Fighter jets and most ground to air defense systems would be a waste of money on the darker side of this scenario. But its still a good idea to build it in case of Putin invading Alberta.

Not really related but jogged my memory… I’m not sure if anyone remembers the kid in Colorado who had supposedly gone missing in a balloon way back in 2009. https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/...ranted-pardons
Anyways, I was in physics class (Colorado state uni) when our professor got the call from the local authorities, asking him to determine if it was physically possible for the kid to be in the balloon. We got to solve most of the case right there in class, finishing with knowing the volume of the balloon would have had to been a lot greater to carry this kid. It was definitely one of my more memorable class experiences haha.

If USA shoots at it, I would consider Elons entire 40,000 Leo satellite constellation as fair game for the ultimate duck hunt.
BTW: This is a "spy balloon" that is bright white and larger in diameter than three city bus. If it was a real spy baloon, it would be painted blueish grey. And very likely - make it through the USA without anyone noticing.
I can imagine this may have been pre-planned, in order to guage the backlash when China puts up its own 40,000 (arugably 200,000) low earth orbit satellite constellation, using 5G no less.
