The military said they could tell it was Chinese because it had Rolex written on one side, and 8888 written on the other.

I would think there has to be a simple way to get that down without injury or damage to the population... Fuck me. Pop a couple holes in it and watch it slowly decend?

Came over Canada without anyone noticing. We don’t stand a chance and the US won’t help us.

Hypersonic missles are so yesterday. Honestly though, its literally 1,000,000x cheaper to just use a weather balloon.

As a spy technology balloon has always been superior to helicopter and airplane. Too much airchop to get a good image. Satellite is too far away to get a nice closeup.

I really don't know how big of a deal it is considering there are many nations looking to copy Elon and put up 40,000 low earth orbit satellites.

To assume that China would not spend the extra 300 grams to put the best camera they can on those would be folly.

I don't know if its right to assume China either. Could be Russia. Their Glonass GPS without a question have cameras and extra solar panels on them now, maybe not the first one launch in 1982 - but for sure now.

Made in China sure, but used by China not agiven.

What the fuck are they spying on us for?

'Oh the Canadians are still taking 10 years to build 1/4 of a ring road around a city of 1 million. Nothing to worry about here. Cancel future spy missions no need on this country is full doofuses'

    It's about sending a message.

China can potentially send up more spy satellites if they want to but this is cheap.

I really enjoy buying complete plastic crap that smells like cancer and breaks within a week.
I also really enjoyed a couple years of pandemic. Loved it!

Let's keep doing what we're doing!

Increased radiation creates super-covid after Chinese official sneezed into the balloon before it was inflated.

It does look like a death star though. Use the force.

Google what is the highest altitude of a F-35 fighter?

    50,000 feet (9.47 miles)

Google what is the highest altitude of a weather balloon?

    173,000 feet (32.8 miles)

Yeah, fighter jet has zero chance of interception (until it starts to lose altitude). You might try an anti-ICBM, but its not equipped to lock onto a balloon as it probably doesn't have a heat source.
