Watched the first half of Pulp Fiction with my 14 year old. That's a pretty intense movie for a modern kid! No idea if we'll finish it.

Pulp fiction really stands the test of time, that movie is so good. Agree, it’s a little on the mature side for a 14yo, imo.

Jolie, Miller, Lillard, Penn, Pierce, Stevens, Bradford. Looking back, that's a pretty awesome cast.

“Very bad things” should be a good watch, things that can happen/escalate etc.

Decided my kid needed to see the best Sean Astin movie, so it's Encino Man tonight.

I like the soundtrack from Encino Man. Kid absolutely loved it. I'm calling that a win.

Went right off the board and watched the 1984 David Lynch Dune today with the 14 year old. Kid loved it. Wife was not impressed. She's never seen it.

Such a wild experience. It's like half the story.
Did you ever see Jodorowsky's Dune? That dude had a vision for Dune, that vision was insane, but holy hell what a movie it would have been. He was so busy directing crazy arthouse films he missed his calling as a cult leader.

Jodorowsky's refusal to compromise on Dune's running time was one main reason the film did not get made. Hollywood did not want the film's length to exceed two hours. Jodorowsky felt 10 to 14 hours would be more appropriate for the adaptation.

So it didn't get made? And you are asking if I saw it?

Sounds like a documentary about his triumphant cluster-fuck-headedness, to me.
