Thought this deserved its own thread. Don't expect much, but short-haul to the warm side of the USA is a price sensitive market, and one I'd consider a discount carrier for.

Thought this deserved its own thread. Don't expect much, but short-haul to the warm side of the USA is a price sensitive market, and one I'd consider a discount carrier for.

Already know a couple of people who flew this direct Victoria to Calgary and back. Everything was fine.
They charge for every nano thing (just like Flair) but overall it was cheap as Hell.

The ultra-low-cost carrier is based on a similar model popular in Europe, with a la carte pricing for things like priority boarding, checked baggage, seat selection and changes or cancellation. There is no onboard entertainment, charging ports, meals or drinks.

Even with a family of 4, plane tickets are a rounding error.

I booked this for my son and I to go to Tucson to visit my parents in a couple of weeks. Was cheap ($350 for us both, return). But the bigger benefit is the fact that they fly there and AC does not.

I agree that we are misaligned on this.
My experience in Phoenix was life changing and in a very bad way. I find Potato Land to be a relaxing oasis, even though the personnel involved can be infuriating.
Everything in Phoenix is a 40 minute drive from what you were already trying to relax at. Potato Land is just potato.
