On the topic of who is saving money, I actually think in the grand scheme of things I pay less for entertainment today than I ever have.

Telus charges me $55 for
Cable with All Sports
Crave+HBO
Netflix Premium

Then I pay $120 a year for Disney Plus, and $80 for Prime.

I remember when my cable bill was well over $100 a month for a lot less and a lot shittier quality a decade ago.

Im very comfortable with the new world order. I hope we get something like YouTube tv NFL Sunday ticket soon, id happily spend more for better quality football streams in 4k etc.

I use Netflix daily with a VPN, snooping other catalogues that are superior to Canada's shitty one. I haven't been warned yet, expecting it soon though. I'm getting Netflix in a deal/package, got Disney+ for another 18 months for free with my Shaw contract, don't mind paying the 80 bucks for Prime as I order enough stuff it's worth it for the shipping 2 day deal on its own. I'm getting MGM for a few dollars a month for the next 6, Paramount+ for I think 6 or 7 for the same....Hulu I cancelled. Once the contract on that's up I'm setting up HBO Max at our US address and then VPN'ing it, as the HBO Max catalogue is 10x better than HBO Canada's.

All in, it's cheap as hell compared to paying 100$ for gay cable TV which sucks the big one. Crave is the most costly at around $20 something, and it's the shittiest app too.

I have this setup for desktop support for my MIL house and my mother's house. Netflix is just a bonus.

Prime is $99 per year now.

Disney+ was free from Amex.
Netflix is $10/month
YouTube premium is $6/month.
Antenna for TV.
Spotify is $17/month
Internet is $90/month.

So overall, I'm still paying $120ish/month for entertainment.
Paying about the same as the cable TV days but I get a more tailored experience.

Also for prime. I could probably lump that in with my Telus if I used my Telus rewards points to buy months of prime, and if I cut food network as a Chanel pack I could just add prime to that included with my Telus $55 a month.

Basically Telus is just an aggregator for my streaming services. Works for me.
