Default MS Teams - Trouble with wireless headphones

Hey, so my wife has this issue:
She has her wireless headphones (Soundcore Q35) connected to her work MS Surface Pro computer, and there's some weirdness regarding the microphone.
In the "test a device" portion of teams, the microphone picks up her voice and plays it back to her just fine, no issues.
BUT in an actual meeting, it does not. She has to switch to the microphone on the MS Surface for anyone to hear her. And yeah she's not muted.

What's really interesting is that the OTHER person on the meeting can see her icon lighting up as if she's speaking, but no sound is transmitted. That feels to me like it's something in MS teams, but I have no idea what setting that could be.

    Diagnostic suggestions?

    Yeah, this is annoying AF…

Lots of pissing around; but essentially in windows you have to swap around the mic and speakers for the headphones in the Bluetooth devices to the right combo of output type (possibly disabling one or the other as it will most likely show up twice) think the options are headset or speaker?

I had a similar problem with my Beats wireless headphones. I was told that my voice was choppy and very quiet. I just turned them off as I am usually alone at home.

Got advice to clean out the cache from C:\users\username\appdata\roaming\microsoft\teams\cache, so we did that.

Then messed with the NC settings on the headphones. I think it was the NC settings that did it, but interestingly. it works in ALL NC settings now. So weird.

I that issue with a wired (USB) headset. only a restart would fix it.

Now I use the mic on my web cam (separate from Laptop). No issues.

For my own work needs I carry a USB conference mic and a set of USB gaming headphones in my laptop bag at all times. I'm a big fan of wired connectivity.

Not sure about the Q35 but for the Sony XM4's they have a stereo mode and a voice mode (that enables the mic) because bluetooth can only handle so many channels. So in teams & windows I had to manually set the right in/outputs. If I try to use mic + stereo it won't work.
