You're like the only person I know that know people that have "long covid", or as I like to call it, "hysteria" or "insurance fraud"

Well, that's one of the more ignorant responses, but not surprising. The interesting thing is, my anecdotal experience lines up fairly well with the data. Relatively little harm from the vaccines, which very clearly prevented serious disease and death in most people, and last I checked, estimates of anywhere from 10-30% of people, mostly women, who get COVID, get long COVID.

The people I know with it are among the most genuine, honest people I know. The oldest one doesn't have to work because her husband makes $$$ as an O&G exec. The other three desperately want to work and at least one of the younger ones (just turned 25 yesterday), is struggling with depression because it's been over 2 years with little to no improvement. An incredibly smart, talented young woman with an unknown future.

But, hey, you know everyone's motives.

Exactly, anecdotal. Now you're getting it.

It's fine for a person to make decisions for themselves based on anecdotal evidence. It's much less fine when whatever conclusions can be made from it are applied to everyone else. For anyone who cares, that's why I have a problem with the "do your own research" crowd. Some mutt sees something bad happen to one guy, and infers that the same bad thing will happen to everyone, and that passes as sound thinking. It isn't.

I'm not interested in getting any more boosters, but luckily the anecdotal evidence points to harm in 27 year old gym instructors, and that's not a demographic I'm part of. So anectdotally I'll be safe.
