Modern Golf and TXG are the two places I could recommend. TXG are still getting more and more equipment, so they might not have every shaft/flex right now but I'd say it's comparable to Modern Golf. They will have more than Modern Golf when it's all said and done. TXG had delays getting me my new wedges, but that was due to the Ontario guys. They also use GCQuads instead of TM4's for indoor fittings which I think is superior.

Both are struggling with massive demand, particularly in custom builds, so if you want new gear for whenever the season starts, you better get on it. Modern Golf stopped taking new club work, as they are 6-8 weeks backed up when I called last week or the week before. They do the best club work in town, hands down. I'm super particular about my stuff, but never been upset with any work they have done for me. I can't say the same for many other shops - Ted and Dave, Simply Golf, etc. who does passable work but my clubs came out damaged at each place, including a head coming off at the range.

If this is too much for you, just sign up for a demo/fitting day with whatever vendor you fancy. They are having them virtually every weekend at the domes in town.

Ya simply golf is not great. I trusted them to build a set of 1957 Miura baby blades, and they fucked it up. Ferrules not turned down well, glue everywhere, and two of the heads were on the shaft at an angle (not even sure how you do that unless you drill them too big before gluing them in).

Not what you want to see after overpaying for a set of unobtanium bnib heads.

Where is everyone going for club fitting? I am toying with getting a driver fit this year as it has been a point of frustration all last season.
Go to the golf dome, rent the sim and take a video of your swing. I’ll analyze it for free haha.

What’s happening with your swing currently?

    Launch angle?
    Spin?
    Draw?
    Fade?
    Swing speed?
    Ball speed?

    Reducing ball distance.

    What’s your take?

I think it’s a stupid idea and I’m shocked they are even considering this.

I think it's a stupid idea, however I'm not shocked at all they are considering this.

If the LIV controversy has taught us anything, it's that the people that run the Tour are a bunch of myopic, immature cunts.

well, just having the players hit further and further wasn't a good solution. pretty soon you'd have to re-build all the championship courses.
Let's just go back to hickory drivers. or persimmon, or whatever they were.

NHL should go back to wood sticks.
    People shoot too hard now.

I was going to make a joke about how race cars should go back in time, but then I realized that I would be thrilled if F1 went back to N/A V10 or V12s.

    I don't think that's a good comparison, but what do I know?

Race cars don’t work the same way on the same tracks they did 150 years ago, the same way that the golf courses from 150 years ago don’t work for the game/equipment today

I think if technology has systematically made courses and scoring easier it makes sense to have some dialogue about how to normalize scoring.

It’s pretty cheap to use a shittier ball, it’s very expensive to lengthen every golf course.

I don’t care what they do for the pros. Keep the ball as it is currently for the hackers. Tighten the greens, deepen the bunkers and grow the rough. That will take care of scoring for amateurs

Of course the equipment manufacturers would prefer to lengthen every course. And the courses would prefer to change the ball. Hard to find an unbiased opinion on it.

John Rahm said it best, it’s already a tough game and it will only make it harder for the shorter hitters. It’s fucking stupid.

Just make the rough longer for tour events, punish miss hits, not bombs.
