We got those stupid fucking wooden boxes at our course last year too. They look nice, but I hate them.
I might preferred the pyramid of balls, but maybe they thought it was too much work for the teenagers to use a little funnel thing to fill it.

Hitting off the grass >>>>>>> x100 over the carpet shit.
They don’t bother me. They come out easy enough. Also much easier for the grounds people to fill them on a regular basis. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Where do you play again? Pinebrook?
I found a nice little gem not too far from the office for me to hit off the grass. Went once this season, then sprained my ankle pretty bad. Hope to be able to get back out next week.

Well, it's not that close....but closer than I thought I would need to drive. Office is near McKnight and Barlow. Range is out in DelacourThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Anyone want a tee time for Saturday 1:48pm at Maple Ridge before I cancel it?
Little practice at the range last night.
Has anyone taken lessons at Golftec?
If so, do you have a recommended instructor? OR do you have a better recommendation in the North end of the city?

I've heard/seen guys who have used Golftec and they are positive about their experiences but still suck at golf. Todd Halpen is someone I've used in the past and is great player, teacher, coach, etc. that has won teaching awards, and crap. He's not cheap but it really depends on what your goals are. I have a couple recommendations for guys in the deep south but that range looks like Airdrie, so I doubt you want to go down that far. Modern Golf has some solid guys too, Jeremy and Travis are guys I'd take a lesson from.
I use Darryl James in the winter & Luke Workman in the summer.
Both are great but neither located in the north.
Darryl James is with National Golf Academy and teaches out of the dome in the winter & Shaganappi in the summer.
Luke teaches out of the club.
Anyone know a decent female beginners coach?
My wife has apparently decided she wants to golf… and she said she wanted a female instructor.

Would it help if you told her golf lessons aren’t like they appear in the movies? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
But seriously, no, I’ve never met a female golf pro that’s actually good at playing or teaching.
Her background is synchronized swimming. She has weird ideas of men’s and women’s sportsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Fair enough though, figured it would be worth the ask as I have never met a female pro at any club I have been to either.
