Question, if I'm a rookie does that mean I can compete in the rookie championship in addition to whatever class my car falls in?

Correct, when you're signing up for the event there is a field that asks if you're a rookie which automatically puts you in the Rookie category.
You also have to class your vehicle correctly on the registration page.

You qualify as a Rookie if you have 2 seasons or less experience in Autocross.

Not trying to take away from the thread but has anyone raced any CACC events in BC?

I was thinking of entering the hill climb but it’s a bit confusing on all the hoops you have to jump through to get registered… any help is appreciated, cheers.

Are you talking about Knox Mountain? I wanted to do that years ago but it's for srs bidness. You need a cage, for example, so I assume that's enough to stop you right there.

Yeah, Knox mountain. Wasn’t sure about the cage, thought it may if applied to open top cars. Thanks Pen.

Ride up there every week on my bike so know the course well. Thought it would be super fun to take it easy and have the experience in the car. Oh well, should be fun to spectate.

Yes, it's great to watch. I've been a few times and there's lots of other shit to do.
But yeah, the event needs full cage plus fire extinguisher, Nomex suit and I think even a certain stage of "Solo -___" license. I think it's because cars leaving the track and crashing are quite a significant ordeal. You're a bit fuck if you miss that corner as you'll likely start tumbling down a steep embankment littered with thicc pine trees.

Beautiful area though. That's my favorite part of Kelowna. So much to do and so much accessible by foot.

Yeah I could see some gnarly crashes happening if people are pushing through certain areas.

Went up for a little course preview anyways

It was a blast to watch today. Wanting to build a car just for it next year. An alberta plated “2007 Arco V3” broke the all time record and was insane to watch.

I'd love to come spectate the Airdrie events, is there space for spectators? (and future potential participants?)

Volunteer as a marshall (cone chaser) and get the best seat in the house.

Yes you certainly can just spectate, plenty of room for spectators. Just sign the waiver at the front gate and you can come in and watch. May even be able to get a ride-a-long.
