I spend easily $800/month on groceries and that’s with us eating out a lot.

We mainly shop at Superstore, rarely at Walmart or Coop, and some staples at Costco. I wish we could go to a nice butcher more often, for all types of meat, but it's just not in the cards these days. Used to go to the Farmer's Market a lot but most of the produce (except in the summer) is just more expensive, same item things I see at other groceries stores. Fuck those guys.

For two of us, we have consistently been spending $800/month on groceries but this is nothing new. We go out for a nicer dinner a few nights a month, nothing crazy.

We spend around $150 a week for two at superstore plus $55/week food box.

I don't spend 300 a month on groceries but I only eat at home maybe 4 meals a week on average I guess.

A thing of cheese was $26 at co-op. Swear it used to be $17 not long ago. Easy to walk out with $100 in groceries and barely be carrying anything.

Inflation is a transfer of wealth to the wealthy from the poor and middle class

    How so?

I see it as benefiting primarily those loaded up with the most debt which are typically those holding significant assets/collateral.

Edit: I misread your post. I completely agree.

Only when NDP got Liberal by the balls. Otherwise, money will only go to cronies instead of the public.

So I heard a poison pill is added so future gov can't remove carbon tax, that true?

Here is a list of some of the more significant funding initiatives in Budget 2023.
    • $43B in net new spending over six years.
    • 3 main priorities: health care/dental, affordability and clean economy.
    • Doubling of GST rebate extended for lower income Canadians, up to $467 for a family.
    • $13B over five years to implement dental care plan for families earning less than $90K.
    • $20B over six years for tax credits to promote investment in green technologies.
    • $4B over five years for an Indigenous housing strategy.
    • $359 million over five years for programs addressing the opioid crisis.
    • $158 million over three years for a suicide prevention hotline, launching Nov. 30.
    • Creation of new agency to combat foreign interference.
    • Deficit for 2022-23 expected to be $43B, higher than projected in the fall.
    • Higher than expected deficits projected for next 5 years.
    • Federal debt hits $1.18 trillion. Debt-to-GDP ratio will rise slightly over next 2 years.
Spend, spend, spend, it seems. Last 3 points are appalling, can't even act like things are improving.

Canadian gov is spending $70bn/yr to service their debt.
Lol, $70bn covers a lot of social programs.

Have the liberals ever one time even come close to hitting one of their budgets?

I give it as much credibility as if it was written by Bernie Madoff. Maybe less.
