    Default Vancouver starbucks stabbing

    Just absolutely disgusting:

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...nder-1.6791994

Warning: video is circulating on social media that shows the tail end of the altercation and the victims last moments while some shitstain cell cam operator repeats "he's dead bro, he stabbed him, he's dead bro". Highly suggest not watching that video its very disturbing.

WTF is happening to society so sad.

Another one in Toronto, random stabbing of a student on a subway. The policies that make these types of events happen is what people voted for, unfortunately.

The fact the dude got into an altercation while holding his child speaks of his inability to deescalate and remove himself and his daughter from a precarious situation.

    Sad, but be smarter.

No doubt. When kids are around de-escalate or leave at all costs.

If he was alone, different story.

Now that I have kids, my main goal is to stay alive. No need to thug it up.. not that i necessarily was before I had them

    just brutal.

The internet chatter is that he was with his wife and 3yr old daughter I believe. The wife went into the starbucks to order drinks and the dad and daughter stayed outside on the patio. The stabber was either vaping or smoking weed and the dad either asked him to stop or told him to stop. It escalated into an argument and when the mom came back outside, the stabber said "you better grab your kid". The dad passed the kid to the mom and then engaged in fight and rest is history. Not sure if wife and daughter were inside or outside during attack but all around just horrible.

If you are the stabber, show how tough you are and fight with your hands and feet. Don't just murder someone like that. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes and I'm not saying the victim was completely innocent. I agree, flee whenever possible. When you have your wife and kid though sometimes the dynamic can be a bit different. My first instinct is to always flee since I'm pretty quick on my feet. I would challenge pretty much anyone to a sprint especially if I'm at threat of physical harm. But if I'm with my wife and kid then my only play is to try and increase the distance to the threat while keeping myself between the threat and my family. What a horrible outcome.

Cascade tsunami is coming soon enough.

But did catch sight of the blood on the ground. Must have hit a artery right away because the floor was covered. He probably didn't feel much.

The reality is in today's day and age you never know how mentally unhinged the other person is. Nor is there such thing as a fair fight.
    Always deescalate and flee.

You're absolutely stupid if you choose to engage.

People have always been mentally unhinged. In historical terms even in comparison with recent history (past 100 years) we live in a very safe environment. When something like this happened before social media we got a quick glimpse of it on the news and forgot about it instead of sharing and discussing online. We've all become 'gossiping housewives'.

Everyone lives with varying degrees trauma. A lot of violence comes from societal pressure to 'stand up for yourself'. Evolution has programmed us to be this way which isn't fitting for today's society.

Victim being a 37 yr old father of a young child while living in an extreme HCOL like Vancouver working as a mover I'd imagine lived with a lot of pent up frustration. Not blaming him but very unfortunate circumstances all around.

Not it since I read more. Just the perp has brown sounding name and wife is brown, thought something along the racial line.

But if it's all over a pot/vape smoking then that's not it.

I think 3 years of lock down and continue drug abuse has created a lot of evil all over the world.

    — Kartik Vasudev, 21, was shot to death outside Sherbourne Station on April 7, one of two unprovoked killings. Richard Jonathan Edwin, 39, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

    — A TTC operator was attacked by six assailants at Sheppard-Yonge Station on March 19.

    — A bus driver was accosted by a group of youths and stabbed on Keele St., south of Lawrence Ave., after a fare dispute on Feb. 16.

Yes, it is, if you compare the numbers to last year, crime in the transit system is up by more than 40%.

TLDR, Bob moving away from people is the right move.

Hate to say it, police harassments works. It worked for NYC, and Portland. We need to start cracking skulls again.
