The r/Alberta sub is a special kind of cesspool though - I had to stop going there for my own mental health. My best guess is that the moderation team are Russian/Chinese Marxists.

I fucking hate unions. They really aren't that far off from the mob.

"Rest assured, however, the Union of Taxation Employees intends to apply the provisions of the PSAC constitution and UTE bylaws dealing with the issue of scabs to the fullest extent possible."
Crystal Warner, a member of the national executive of the Canada Employment and Immigration Union (CEIU), said it's the smaller locals that ultimately track and punish these employees.
"The leadership of CEIU encourages our locals to hold people accountable for crossing the picket line," she said by phone on Friday.
Warner said another possible punishment may involve members being invited to a meeting and asked, in front of their fellow union members, why they chose to cross the picket line.
Warner said that may be ample punishment, but fines or membership suspensions are also on the table. She also said CEIU believes only a "relatively small number" of members crossed the picket lines.
Join us or die!One employee who worked throughout the strike said she's not overly concerned about repercussions.
"I felt that they weren't representing my views. And I'm not sure that they were representing the views of the majority of people since you know, only 30 per cent actually voted."

Filed April 30 and got our two paper cheques yesterday. That's seemingly zero delays and it was for quite a bit of money, so no re-evaluation bullshit delays, either.
Fuckin profit!

More than 1,700 employees working at Canada Revenue Agency call centres around the country are likely to see their contracts cut short in the coming months, according to the head of the Union of Taxation Employees.
Article content
Marc Bričre, national president of the UTE, said the government agency is in the process of informing over a thousand temporary hires that their contracts are going to be ended early.
Approximately 260 term employees working for the Quebec region call centre in Montreal have already been informed that their contracts are ending on May 26, rather than in September as originally scheduled, according to Bričre.
Bričre said the CRA confirmed with him that they intend to announce more terminations of contracts in the next month, with about 1,500 more call centre workers to receive the notice in the coming weeks.
...
While workers will receive some retroactive pay following the strike, as outlined in the tentative deal, Bričre said it’s “pretty disrespectful” that the government would prevent the workers from getting the lump sum payment by ending their contracts a few days or weeks before the end of the ratification process and the signing of the new agreement.
“I’m asking them to keep them until the end of June at least so they have a chance to get that lump sum payment and do the right thing for these workers,” Bričre said.
“Over the next few days, our union will be consulting with the PSAC legal department to explore the possibility of filing an unfair labour practice complaint against the CRA regarding its decision to abruptly and prematurely end the contracts just a few weeks after reaching a tentative agreement with our union.”
Fafo.
Something tells me the CRA legal team looked into it already and found an out.“Over the next few days, our union will be consulting with the PSAC legal department to explore the possibility of filing an unfair labour practice complaint against the CRA regarding its decision to abruptly and prematurely end the contracts
