2007 Explorer, 4.6 3v, 6spd auto. Gonna be the new do-everything daily. Everything includes going fast.

Just picked it up in March, little rough.

First order of business was a wheel and tire setup. Wanted to go down an inch on rim size and up two inches on tire diameter. I found these 17" wheels off a 06 Mustang GT. Mounted up some 32" Kumhos and they fit perfect. No rubbing, no spacers needed, no lift needed.

Next up got a new grille for it. Decided to go with a straight bar grille instead of the side nostril Eddie Bauer one that was on it.

I'd like to know more about the go-fast-bits, and any other future plans. Can't wait to see what you do.

That's why I just say I have a 4" dick and lift weights to make up for it.

The plan is something along these lines, straight through a water to air intercooler into the throttle.

Little tinkering today, wanted to get the turbo-intercooler-maf-throttle stack up correct since that'll set the final position of the turbo. As you could see in the above post I had a little too much length going on.

I cut the silicone coupler back about 30mm and then cut the MAF housing back about another 30mm and welded it directly to the intercooler.

Can you flip the manifolds on this one? The exhaust routing looks impossible in this pic.

Yup. Probably look much easier once the wheel well liner takes a hike. Does it have struts like a car or is it a ladder frame?

Ladder frame but the shocks are super tight to the engine.

Threw some Ferd Racing 52lb injectors in it. Engine bay gets dusty as shit, it's pretty wide open under and on the sides

Finished my downpipe and exhaust last weekend, did oil lines today, and she's boosted!

Only running 5psi non intercooled right now, final goal is 10psi with the intercooler obviously hooked up. Have to install a pump and lines and heat exchanger for it.

That’s just a pipe plug, not a spark plug.

Intercooler done! Mounted heat exchanger, pump, reservoir, and ran hoses. Man this thing rips.

What management are you running to control the boost?
