    I was told from a concrete guy that to do concrete or pavers correctly you should go down to clay. Even if that means digging down two feet to remove topsoil. Then backfill with clay, then 6-8" of crush , then sand, then pavers.

    Not sure how accurate this is - but requires a heck of a lot of labour if true. I have definitely seen projects with only 6" of crush and sand on top of soil that frost heaves in the winter.

    This is just for a chicken coop. Pavers are a pain. I’d go sport court if you can get it that small.

    i was quoted between 10-13k for my 24x26 garage pad with 1ft pony wall....

    you shouldnt be paying anywhere close to 10k.. for 2/3rds of the size.

    Pavers are stupid expensive, and depends how deep your clay base is... it can take several lifts of gravel and compacting to get a proper base. and the prep is key
