Free drinks when gambling in Vegas?

This has always been the norm anytime I've gone there. I'm going tomorrow, staying at the linq, friend of mine went today. Not sure if said friend is challenged or what, but paid for an $18 Mai Thai, not positive if she was gambling or not, but is this still the case out there?

The 'norm' for free drinks typically has been for 'high-rollers' or at least the parties that have been sitting there gambling away significant money. Or poker tables with at least $500 buy-ins. It was typically never for your random Joe-blows sitting on penny slots and what not.

At least that's my understanding, but what the fuck do I know as in the 10 or so times I have been out there, I haven't gambled once.

I Respectfully disagree lol I've been 7 times as a regular Joe and have always gotten free drinks, even at penny slots. I just haven't been in about 5 years so now I don't know if anything has changed.

Free drinks if you are gambling at any table. Tip your server or the service sucks at the poor guy tables. Be a jerk and spill shit and the service really slows down.
I usually travel with guys who play both sides of that program.

Yep have always had free drinks while playing tables, granted I'm just ordering beers or a mixed single, free and tip the waitress each drink. They want you to get drunk and play worse/make bad decisions.

Can get free drinks playing penny slots but the waitresses will rarely ever swing by.

It was simple as Hell before. She offers, you ask and you tip $5 on the first round. Then $1 - $2 forever after and you'll be well taken care of. It makes zero difference* whether you're at a penny slot or throwing $100 per roll on roulette.

*it does make a difference if you're in the actual high limit area in Cosmo where one spin on the slot machine is (I shit you not) $32k USD... I have not personally gambled there, however I assume the free drink standards differ there. That's what the Pit Boss told me in a fascinating conversation when we were more regulars, there.

I was there in Oct 2022 and yes drinks are still free when you are gambling. Bring cash if you’re going to any of the nicer casinos… Minimum blackjack bet is $25 usually

I was there only a couple months ago and managed to have my share of free drinks while playing the slots. I found Bally's (Horseshoe) was the best for free drinks. Like others have said, tip well and you're good.

I’m playing the WSOP this year, not sure I will drink much during that as I’m hoping to cash.
