Just got a quote for 4k to have my daughter's wisdom teeth removed. My benefits don't even come close to covering this. Is this not something that Alberta health should cover?

My understanding is if you get your Dr or Dentist to say that it is causing or will cause a health issue (chewing etc) it'll be covered. That's how mine was covered.

The difference can also be general anesthetic vs local + a sedative. Getting put completely under isn't often medically necessary. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Like most things unless its becoming a health hazard its usually not covered.
Going on 45 years and have all 4 of mine and never caused issues. But some are not as lucky.
I had to be put under general anesthetic as they had to go digging for all 4 of mine. Recovery was bad. Covered even through it wasn't an issue at the time but somebody said it was going to be impacted some day.

I thought it's covered if you're under 18?!
My friend in high school figured out how to smoke through his nose to avoid dry sockets.
...
And apparently more importantly to avoid not smoking, LoL!
my upper wisdom teeth were extracted by a greedy dental surgeon unnecessarily. They were so deep in my head that they had to chisel them into my sinus and suck them out through my nose. They ripped my lip open an extra 1/2" at the corner during the procedure. I wish my parents were litigious cause I'd probably have gotten some kind of compensation. what a shit show.
Tap, Rack, BANG!
I just got put out for an extraction, it was $400 and $380 was covered. I’m not going through the torture of dental work anymore. The previous extraction with just the local freezing had my heart racing. Don’t take a baseball to the face, 25 years later I’m still dealing with it.
I had two bottom wisdom teeth. Got sedated at Arbour Lake. Mormon daddy dentist took them out in minutes. That fucker knows what he's doing. Next day on Advil and Tylenol, was fine after about two days.
I got mine out when I was like 12. It was weird how fast my teeth all came in.
That's what me mammy always said! Things come quickly in my mouth...
Hod my top two done today. The bottom ones I had them out when I was 17 which hurt like a bitch. This time... out in 10 mins. I thought he hasnt started yet. Then he's like have a good day bye...
With meth, they'll all just fall out.
Just keep from scratching your face to scabs and it'll work.
Ah, the new Liberal drug and dental plan.
