Like I said, old folks doesn't like health care and CPP messed with. We got Trudeau because Harper lost senior votes trying to push retirement back 2 years.

    Record early votes

Who would've thought an entire campaign of propaganda and flat out lies, would be so effective for the NDP. Picked up 11 seats in Calgary without a single promise or action plan.

At least people are getting out to vote. The previous record was broke in 2019, which previously had the highest voter turnout in 1982.
You could definitely see the lower numbers this year in my area. Last time was a pretty blatant attempt by Albertans to keep NDP out. I guess they didn't think NDP had much chance this year.

Must be the commitment to not raising personal income taxes, then? Gotta be terrifying for successful people.

Resource economy is probably sweating about the NDP wanting to build that interchange at Scotford.
"We promise not to raise your taxes.........................any more than we did last time we were in power". "Also, please ignore that everything we have ever said is a lie, we promise this tax thing is the first truth we have decided to tell"

Reduce the small business tax to 0 helps nearly everyone self employed and many small trades / restaurants businesses grow.

Raising the corporate tax back to 11% will help stabilize our budget and still be the lowest in Canada. Plenty of massive corporations manage to find millions for share buybacks and business in AB was just fine in the past when it was at that level.

Those are two I agree with as it’s a good balance of encouraging smaller businesses to grow while also reigning in future deficits by making large companies pay their fair share on their profits.
Devil is always in the details though. This would turn out much the same way leftists want "The Rich" to be taxed at 80% or whatever kooky number they have in mind. Sounds great until you realize that if you make over 80k/yr, they consider you rich.

Amazing that small business tax went down, but too bad that the only "Small Business" that exists any more is Billy's snow shoveling after school. Meanwhile my corporate tax rate went up.

Just spin up a bunch of numbered companies and keep them under half a mil. Easy.

Perverted taxation systems create incentives for perverted accounting.

I'd love to see simpler tax code for both business and individual.
