    1.9m/4.3m showed up in 2019.

    Still less than 1/2 tho.

    The previous 1.5m in 2015, 1.3m in 2012.

It won't be the young kids this time. It's old people about to suck on government's teats and got spooked on program changes.

Lol ya cause the NDP were really at fault for oil price, just like the UCP lucked into a war across the world that boosted revenue.
So you're saying the NDP can't make the economy better? Agreed.

    I hear three main reasons:
    1) Health Care and Education:
    - Apparently the NDP will "support" Health Care and Education, while UCP will dismantle it.
    - This only makes sense if you think the problems with Education and Health Care are due to lack of "support" and not related to mismanagement, or structural issues
    2) UCP is "Socially embarrassing"
    - NDP is progressive, which is not embarrassing
    - I guess this is an opinion, I don't understand it.
    3) Trump is bad - UCP is trump
    - This is stupid, but I heard someone say it.

People vote NDP because they don't want to feel like they're part of the Redneck 'Berta crowd, that O&G doesn't drive our entire deficient or surplus, and generally feel that a 'new Alberta' can be found with the NDP (whatever that is). Diversify! Then lay off thounsands of tech workers.

The irony with respect to social programs is that as soon as the NDP came into power, someone I know who runs an AA center had their funding obliterated. Why? Well the NDP wanted to do something 'fresh and new', which left them nearly needing to close down the center.

Oil prices good/steady/projected to go up - holy f' where did all this money come from?!! Oil prices volatile/in decline - we're poor as shit.

In terms of provincial surplus or deficient, it doesn't matter who's in power when our entire provincial economy can be boosted or destroyed by WTI.

My sentiments of Liberal vs. Conservative has always been:

    Ultracrepidarian

Cause we don't want religious extremist nutjobs like David Parker and take back Alberta from running our province into the ground??

    That's a start.

    People who vote NDP are typically;

    broke

wanting of “free things” - but are too dense to understand that nothing is free

    Marxist/woke

old - this group could probably be grouped with broke because they didn’t save anywhere near enough for retirement

members of unions - could probably be grouped with people who want free things

NOBODY has wrote more bribery checks than the UCP in the last 6 months.

    NDP supporters are:
    Educated
    Conservative
    Empathetic
    Value public institutions
    Value small government
    Female
    Rational minded

    UCP supporters are:
    Emotional thinkers
    Conspiracy theorists
    Flat earthers
    Grade 9 drop outs
    Selfish assholes
    Religious nutbars
Want the government to tell them what books can be read, what medical procedures are allowed, what you are allowed to believe
(Google "Desantis overreach" to get a sense of UCP aspirations).

I'm not but this guy put together a big list:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

Some recurrent themes I've heard from their supporters are:

-The NDP actually built a pipeline whereas the UCP spent billions on a pre-cancelled pipeline.

-Cut funding, reinstate funding after inflicting damage and spend even more, i.e. lack of conservative principles.

-Privatization of AHS-run services like labs, EMS and laundry not going well so far, public sector weakened, entire towns have no doctors

Some moderate conservatives say the Alberta NDP are like the old Progressive Conservatives, centre-right, pro-oil but also pro-labour.

My advice to any budding young socialists is you have to vote communist if you want to get any actual socialism: https://www.communistparty-alberta.ca/

Personally, I'm not voting NDP in my district, because I'd have to vote for Parachute Druh Farrell.

This is what I said. NDP are centrists.

    People laughed.

Notley just repeated "pay to see a doctor" line continuously and seemed flustered.

Smith's tactic of drawing parallels between federal and provincial NDP and painting Notley as aligning with Trudeau will work well with Albertans.

The "paying to see a doctor" line isn't going to convert anyone who was on the fence or disenfranchised with the current UCP, so I don't see that as a useful play.
Rachel needs to get Smith taking more and as much as possible because she is a wild, unpolished mess and that's about the only thing that will swing a voter.
I see a similar theme federally where I find that everything PP says is like "YES!!! Tell me more! I fucking hate that other guy!" but the same message doesn't resonate as well with moderate Liberals. You've got to swing the people who might switch to you.

For anyone voting ndp how are you supportive of going net zero by 2035. It's a pipe dream that will cost significantly more then the 87 billion they suspect.

Power bills are high enough as it is. Add another 40% they say?
