Default It's Time: Defund the CBC...

I just can't stop myself from reading the headlines and then maybe briefly skimming CBC articles from time to time. Because, it's HILARIOUS! They have virtually completely transformed into a "mainstream" news agency that is comparable to The Rebel Media of the Left. Try and wrap your mind around that...
An extremely heavily govt funded news service has gone as far Left as Rebel Media has gone Right.
What's also interesting is that in a country of about 38MM people, the square root of fuck all people are actually looking at their articles, at any given time. Their #TopStory is garnering 209 viewers right now?¿!?!¿? Like almost one thousandth of one percent of people are supposed to care that they interviewed some hobos who object to P.P. suggesting that maybe Kelowna shouldn't encourage tent -cities?!

Get the complete fuck out of here!!! LoL at them trying to make him look bad for suggesting that affluent areas shouldn't be harboring trash when there are many other Regina places where these disenfranchised vermin could gather!

IT'S TIME TO DEFUND THE CBC!

Please post other examples of their complete lack of journalistic integrity and/or recently biased "reporting" nonsense. They. Are. Completely. Irrelevant in today's news media landscape. They are a mouthpiece for the currently unstable ruling Liberal Party and we should all be burning pallets in the streets that they get as many of our tax dollars as they do.
Fuck the CBC! Being then6 down!

The root of this problem along with many others in this god forsaken country, is that most Canadians are fucking morons and kerts.

But this shows consistently that it isn't "most". No one is reading this shit. 209 people out of 38 MILLION?
And you can say, "well it's the middle of the night in Ontario" but if you look during prime time, the numbers are not better. No one is reading this.

The only time I look at the CBC is when I want to confirm that they're completely ignoring the anti-Liberal/NDP news that I'm reading in another newspaper.

Old example of them burying the story about Chinese election intereference when it first came out:

CBC is just complete trash and a dumpster fire of taxpayer money.

I’m not convinced the average cbc employee has enough brain cells to work at McDonald’s, so I assume their staff are straight to the welfare train.

I just take it for what it is, a rebroadcaster for hockey games.

Seriously though, having a spectrum of news sources is a good thing. I like hearing about the hippies, I like hearing about NASA's great progress since man on the moon, I like hearing about inflation number on a weekly basis.

I liked Tucker Carlson too, everyone should have an opinion. More should have an opinion outside the "norm". Otherwise, its just a police state where you can only think a certain way, because thats the way the information will be allowed to be portioned to you.

    Defund NASA.

I’d prefer the free market fund and decide what content is worth funding.

Have 2-3 decent shows in a sea of trash doesn’t exactly speak wonders for their abilities.

Don't worry guys, CBC's funding is set to increase.

Minister reviewing CBC's mandate with eye to making it less reliant on advertising
    https://www.timescolonist.com/highli...tising-7068716

His mandate letter from the prime minister said the goal in providing more money to the CBC and Radio-Canada is to eliminate advertising during news and other public affairs shows.
CBC can't make money off advertising because no one watches it.

    Kids in the Hall.
But cbc would have cancelled that before it even happened if it was today.

    I liked J-Rock’s talk show.

But I have no need or use for the CBC in its current form.

The govt should give them a one time lump sum - say three years’ worth to revamp into a competitive streaming (Gem??) and survive without funding.

CBC should just be a 24/7 budget stream now with some limited advertising that has the news like Bloomberg Live on YouTube.

Round tables with someone on the left, someone on the right, and a revolving 3rd party rep (independent, Green, People's Party, BQ, academics, whatever), and the same dozen documentaries on repeat.

They don't need $5 Billion for that. Maybe $50 million/year to buy Canadian content (documentaries or other "cultural" programming) and the stream itself should cover its own costs through advertising placements.
