My kid got to rip around in his brand new kart today. Pretty awesome machine, I'm jealous! 125CC Rotax mini max. Water cooled and electric start.
My kid practicing some laps, he's pretty quick!
End of our first season update... I'm addicted to the karting culture as much as my son is. It's a rush to watch him race, I think I'm more nervous during his races than he his lol.
The 2 stroke rotax mini max is a great platform for him to progress on. It's quicker than the LO206 4 stroke while still being a reliable and somewhat affordable platform. It's fairly simple to upgrade him to a rotax junior kart when he gets older.
I don't know much about the Calgary kart culture, but from my outside observation the track in Strathmore has a very competitive scene. Their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/calgarykart.racingclub with top racers competing this weekend in Vegas. We're
planning/hoping to race there next year pending time and $.
Photo for any beyonders thinking about getting their kids into karting...it's pretty fun for parents to watch.
Is it competitive for all ages? Or adult only leagues or is it more geared towards younger drivers working their way up ?
Definitely competitive for all ages. Lots of old farts like us in LO206. Kids who have some practice rip around in 2strokes often beating adults. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
