    Default Heli-Tours Alberta - Thoughts?

Might be buying this for an upcoming special occasion. Alpine Heli out of Canmore is the "big name" in the space. Anyone have thoughts or suggestions? I'm fine with departures from Nakoda, Canmore, Mt Shark or similar. Hell even Crowsnest Pass if there's anyone good down there.

I worked with Alpine for a couple months one summer doing field work. Great crew of people, very talented pilots, they got us in to some crazy locations.

DOn't quote me on it but I believe the Mt. Shark helipad is primarily used for couriering gear/people to-from Assiniboine and rescue staging.

I did the 35 min Assiniboine tour a couple of weeks ago with Alpine in Canmore. I'd never been in a helicopter before so it was a pretty cool experience, being in one and seeing things from that vantage point. The friend I was with was lucky enough to sit up front beside the pilot; the views she had from up there were pretty incredible. I was at the back, facing backward so I my views were a bit compromised. It was a great experience none the less.

Alpine is the only company out of Canmore / k country
Rockies heli can get you to the ice fields
In Hinton there is a couple of companies that can get you around Jasper.
LR heli can leave out of spring bank and get you to k country

Any company that is willing to do a canyon run, and/or hammerhead. Probably zero these days with liabilities and all, but you don't know fun in a heli until you've experienced these.

Alpine is a solid company though.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

I've done a few heli tours just not In that area. One a few years back removed the doors off the helicopter. They started by flying straight up and then tilted the helicopter sideways.

I'm not a huge fan of heights in some scenarios so the wife had a few good laughs at my expense.

I can't see these tours being anything but awesome.

I was thinking of hiring a helicopter to tour me over some hunting areas to better scout the areas.

I don't think any of the normal commercial operators do any fancy roller-coaster flying and tbh that would not be a benefit for me.
