That looks awesome! How much did the ikea cabinets end up costing you if you don't mind me asking? I've always used the same cabinet guy for years but lately he's been so busy it's good to have an alternative if I'm in a time crunch.

I guess I forgot the final update. There is still a plug and undercabinet lighting to go in, but this is it. I believe I paid about 11k for all the cabinets.

    100%

Tiles look great, even if they aren't to my personal style, I can enjoy a nice tile job.

FYI - I just put an ikea kitchen in myself as well (I did everything except the final install of the units... wanted a pro for that). Saved some dough, and works super well. I'm super happy with the quality of it and I'm sure you will be too.

I will answer BJstares callout, just need to finish my hood vent first

Who did you have do it? We are just about at the install stage for our downstairs kitchen. Thinking of doing it ourselves, but might be interested in having someone else install it.

We need to see coupe's kitchen first.... then we can all compare our own kitchens to it.

Did you do everything yourself using IKEA parts?

No, I paid someone else to do it this time. The only thing that's ikea is the boxes/cupboards. Everything else was from all over.

For reference, there is also a big pantry on the other side beside the fridge. Including electrical, plumbing, sink, tap, appliances, handles, everything that a kitchen needs, this is about a 27k kitchen.

It was a family friend who is a semi retired contractor so only takes jobs here and there... sorry, otherwise I would have hooked you up!

$27K all in?? That's a ripping great price.

There is no better value than Ikea cabinets. Same or better quality than options that cost 2x as much.

Especially if you buy during the kitchen event.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Well this didn't age well. Danze no touch faucet crapped out a while ago. Not only that, the danze bathroom tap isn't working properly.

These are both well under a year old. For the kitchen, I got a new control box that didn't fix it, so the whole thing will be returned, what a pain in the ass, but gives me an excuse to upgrade to a better brand.

Fuck Danze, whoever told me that before was right.
