    Default Who manages your money?

Do you manage your own retirement and investment savings? Does someone else? How do you like it?

Was suggested to use RBC private banking by a fellow Beyonder. No complaints so far.

I do have an investment "fun" account to see if I can outperform the pros tho.

I knew I needed more options. Exhausted today, couldn't think of any more.

I should have had a "saving is for chumps, yolo!" option too.

Work with a fee-based advisor, very happy with that. Better product offerings vs. what's available in retail banking (not private banking since i'm nowhere near 7.2). Don't have the time (nor do I want to invest the time) to do it myself.

You get to invest in their super duper extra awesome special funds that they won’t sell to just anyone.

For the same huge fees as their normal funds that still don’t outperform the S&P

My bank offered a very narrow selection of their own managed products. (This was ATB, maybe the others banks have better product offerings - but didn't really seem like it at the time?)

Non-bank fee based advisor had access to a much wider range of funds, and compared the performance of what my bank offered and had me in vs. what she could place me into. Much better returns and performance overall which more than offset the fees. Plus, something to be said about building a relationship with someone vs. whatever schmuck answered the phone in the call-center. I suspect the banking experience would be different with HNW-private banking like what Rage mentioned, but I don't fit that bill, haha).

All me, simply three ETF set up, low fee, rebalance once a year. Canadian Couch Potato podcast is a great resource for self-education.

I've got a 5% off to the side in stonks / commercial property but that's just mostly entertainment.

Fair enough. You'e probably seeing a lot of restrictions with ATB. I feel like with any of the larger brokerages you have access to almost everything.
