I did silverwood on Friday, was super surprised how short the line ups were.

Supposed to go camping next weekend west of Kimberley, so here's hoping their fire is under control.

The construction on Hwy 3 is either paused tomorrow or ends at 4pm. BC roads website gives conflicting info. We’re leaving early just in case. Look for Big Blue towing a flat deck

Drove through yesterday (a bit later to avoid the construction - passed through around 8 and there was no delay at all) and the fire is smouldering pretty good, could see lots of orange flames throughout the hill, some of which didn’t look far from town. I bet it looks pretty crazy at night.

I grew up in Sparwood, crazy to see how close the fires are to a relatively small town. My parents used to own the video store in town behind that Save on Foods.

Will happen eventually in any town that doesn't have a substantial firebreak between the wild forest and the town.

We just went to Fernie for the long weekend and pulling into Sparwood and seeing those fires was pretty scary.

Came back home today, no fires in sight and no construction delays.
