    Default Sparwood/fernie fires?

I'm driving back home on Monday from spokane. We drove the long way here to avoid the fires, wondering if anyone know what the highway is like now going back thru fernie/sparwood?

I've looked on google maps and the drivebc site and I'm not seeing anything about them anymore. Any ideas what it's like out there?

Not on the ground there but seems just the one fire north of Creston.
The Fernie area is clear of smoke.

News is focused on the Ossoyos fire now.

Was through sparwood Wednesday. Could see fire from highway but no issues.

Honestly just check drive bc or google maps and don't worry about it. Very major highway, so if there's delays it'll be obvious.

On my way to fernie right now and it’s not smoky. Rain in the area actually. Came back from silver wood and there was no smoke anywhere to be honest.

Has anyone done the road to yaak Montana, the 2015 navigator nav took us that way it was quite a road. Was trying to get to Libby to get the wife some thc gummies once we got to the states and we missed it. Went old school with no cell phone use for 3 days.

Kind of random but if you’re driving back through Creston and such anyways; would you be up to stop at a fruit stand and grab some stuff for me?

Someone send me a crank shot from Fernie. But make it an @SKR crank shot so I can file it with the other thousand others.

In Sparwood right now - no fires or smoke. Yesterday late afternoon/early evening there was some smoke though. Highway is fine, just lame construction.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

I dunno what BokChoy is looking at, cause the mountain across the river at sparwood was 100% smouldering and slightly on fire at 11:30 am this morning. That being said, no issues on the road to fernie, slight tinge of smoke once hit BC

Yep fernie is perfect right now. Doing downhill for the first time here Tuesday, did a rental since we came back from Idaho.

I think this is the merrit fire - as you're headed west out of kamloops climbing the coq; you pass the Ross Moore lake fire, then you're staring at this one. The BC wildfire service says its under control but... ?

Fires can be pretty large and "under control" or small and uncontrolled. Like my dick, size has nothing to do with it.

They had a big race a month ago, they probably aren’t in great shape. Just going to enjoy what is out there, I’ve got low experience on downhill so just going to be cruising down anyway.

Nah. I think my friends' are taking their kids, but I've sat out the last couple of years. Only thing I'm missing from there is the giant ice cream cones, but I'll just go to Costco for that. Probably rent a boat for the lake for a couple days though.
